DIE VARIETIES

May #1 - A Dot adjoined to the right side of the first "A" in CANADA on the Reverse and a Dot on the Obverse above the "25" of 25 CENTS are used to mark this die pair. These come as Weak Strikes or Partial Collars. Please refer to "Strike Varieties" below -for images and values.


May #2 - A Plating flaw on the Die resulting in what may be the early formation of a Die Chip on the Reverse. The Obverse also shows a Die Chip and a small Die Crack extending from a bead. As illustrated above.

May #4 - A large Die Crack through the last "A" of CANADA on the Reverse. *Estimated value -$2.00*

May #1B - Weak Strike - comes in varying degrees. Most evident on the reeding of the rim and the beads of the Obverse. Reverse not as affected. Same Die characteristics as May #1. *Estimated value -$5.00*


May #1C - Partial Collar - Slightly evident on the reeding of the rim. Same Die characteristics as May #1.
